“Verified” is the most abused word in this industry. It appears on almost every listing site in Greece, usually as a badge that means nothing more than that someone paid for the badge. This guide explains what verification means when we use it, how to check a listing yourself anywhere, and how to recognise the handful of scams that account for nearly every bad experience people have when booking in Athens.

The underlying problem is simple. You are choosing from photographs and text, and both are easy to fake. Verification is the process of closing the gap between the listing and the person who arrives.

What verification means here

Identity and age

Every companion listed with us has had government-issued identification checked in person before appearing on the site. This confirms two things: that she is who she says she is, and that she is an adult. No exceptions are made for anyone, and this is the point at which most of the industry’s problems would disappear if everyone did it.

Photographs
