Brothels in Mykonos

People searching for brothels in Mykonos are usually after one of two things: a licensed premises they can walk into, or simply a way to meet somebody tonight. The honest answer on this island differs sharply from the answer in Athens, and this page sets out both.

The short answer for this island

Mykonos does not have a brothel scene in the way a mainland city does. There is no red-light district, no cluster of licensed premises, and nothing you can reasonably walk into.

The reasons are practical rather than moral. Licensing in Greece is issued at municipal level and carries real conditions on the premises — distance from schools and churches, registration and periodic health checks for the people working there, limits on how many may work at one address. Satisfying all of that on a small island with extremely expensive property and a fourteen-week season is close to impossible commercially.

So what exists here is an outcall market: companions who travel to your hotel or villa, or occasionally host at their own accommodation. That is what this island runs on, and it is what we arrange.

What the Greek law actually says

Sex work is legal in Greece and regulated rather than merely tolerated. Adults may do it voluntarily, and arranging companionship between consenting adults is lawful.

Licensed brothels do exist in Greece and operate under municipal permit. The regime is genuinely strict on paper, which is a large part of why the number of fully licensed premises anywhere in the country is small — and on Mykonos, effectively nil.

What is illegal everywhere and without exception is anything involving a person under the age of consent, or anybody who is not there voluntarily. That is not a grey area, and any operation where that seems to be the case should be reported rather than patronised.

This page is not legal advice. For certainty on a specific situation, ask a Greek lawyer rather than a website.

What you will actually find advertised

Searches for this term on Mykonos return three things, and only one of them is a real option.

Agencies using the word as a search term while operating an ordinary outcall service. This is the largest group and includes, in this instance, us — the difference being that we are telling you rather than letting you assume.

Seasonal listings with no organisation behind them, appearing in June and vanishing in September. These are the riskiest thing in the island market.

Directory entries that are years out of date, kept alive because nobody removes paid listings.

If a listing claims a walk-in premises on this island, treat that claim with more scepticism than you would anywhere else.

Why an outcall booking suits the island anyway

Worth saying, because the practical advantages here are larger than on the mainland.

You do not travel. On an island with famously few taxis and roads that seize up in August, not having to get anywhere is worth a great deal.

You know the price before anybody moves, you choose a specific person from photographs, and nobody sees you arrive at or leave anywhere.

And you are in your own hotel or villa, which on Mykonos is usually considerably nicer than any alternative venue would be.

What we arrange

Companions who travel to your hotel or villa, and in some cases host at their own accommodation. No premises, no address to turn up at, no waiting room.

Every companion is an independent adult who chooses each booking herself, sets her own rate, and has been verified. We photograph our own companions and the images are recent and unretouched beyond colour correction.

We operate on Mykonos and in Athens, through one office and one number, year-round. Nowhere else in Greece.

What it costs

Mykonos rates in season run above the Athens range of €150 to €250 an hour, for structural reasons — island accommodation, slow expensive transport, and a season roughly fourteen weeks long.

Longer bookings are much better value per hour here than on the mainland, because the travel overhead per booking is so high. Overnight is quoted as a single figure and is the best value available.

You are quoted one total, including the travel supplement for your area, before you agree to anything. Payment is cash in euros at the start — no deposit, no transfer, no card, at any time of year.

Safety, whichever route you take

This applies as much to any premises you might find as to a booking, and it is the most useful part of this page.

Never pay in advance. The island produces more of these scams than anywhere, because “high season, secure the slot” sounds plausible when everything genuinely is booked out. It is a scam without exception.

Establish the price first. One total, agreed up front, travel included. Charges introduced later are considerably harder to argue about once you are somewhere.

Trust the room. If anything suggests somebody is not there voluntarily — another person answering for her, no direct contact, an atmosphere of supervision, a price far below the market — leave, and report it rather than proceeding. In Greece that means the police on 100, or the national trafficking helpline on 1109, which is anonymous and operates around the clock.

Do not go somewhere you cannot leave easily. Ordinary caution, and on an island where you may not know the geography, worth more than usual.

The Greek terms

In Greek you will see μπουρδέλα, bourdela and the formal οίκοι ανοχής, which is the legal term for a licensed premises.

Online these are used loosely and frequently describe agencies rather than actual buildings — which is a large part of why the search results are so confusing. A site using the word does not mean there is a premises behind it.

Our office answers in Greek and English, and WhatsApp and Viber are answered as quickly as the phone.

Booking

Call, WhatsApp or Viber — the same office and number as Athens, answered from late morning until around six the following morning, seven days a week.

Give the dates, the time, roughly how long, and where you are staying. For a hotel, the name and room number. For a villa, a dropped map pin rather than an address.

Two days ahead is realistic in peak season and a week is comfortable if a particular companion matters. Same-day works more often in May, June and September than in July and August.

What we will not do

We do not operate or represent any premises, take a commission from one, or recommend one — so any recommendation from us would carry no information anyway.

We do not arrange anything involving anybody who is not a consenting adult, and every companion working with us has been verified.

We do not take deposits, and we do not substitute a different companion without telling you.

Common questions

Are there brothels in Mykonos?

Not in any meaningful sense. There is no red-light district and effectively no licensed premises — the island’s market is outcall.

Why not, when they exist elsewhere in Greece?

Municipal licensing carries real conditions on the premises, and satisfying them on a small island with very expensive property and a short season is not commercially viable.

Are brothels legal in Greece at all?

Licensed ones are, under municipal permit with registration and health requirements. The number fully licensed anywhere is small.

So what can I actually book here?

A companion who travels to your hotel or villa, or in some cases hosts at her own accommodation.

Is that more expensive?

Island rates run above Athens for structural reasons. Longer bookings are much better value per hour here.

Do I pay a deposit for high season?

No. Never, at any time of year. This is the most common scam on the island.

Can you recommend a premises?

No. We have no arrangement with any and take no commission.

What if something feels wrong?

Leave. If anybody appears not to be there voluntarily, report it — police on 100, or the trafficking helpline on 1109.

If what you want is a companion tonight, call the office or message on WhatsApp or Viber. See also how island bookings work, brothels in Athens and how the scams work.
